Many brave heroes answered the call to hunt the monster, with Meleager, son of the king, and Atalanta, a fearless huntress, taking center stage. Here, Meleager charges forward on horseback, ready to take down the boar, while Angaeus, an Arcadian hero, lies mortally wounded on the ground, struck by the beast's deadly force.
