Fragment of a grave stele

The relief was discovered in Athens, beyond the Long Walls. A standing female figure is portrayed, clad in Argive peplos and sporting short hair, possibly a companion or attendant who grasps an open chest holding personal items belonging to the deceased woman, whose seated form once occupied the stele's right end but is now absent, save for her right hand.
