Human: Fragment of a large votive relief featuring a rocky landscape with a god or hero seated in front of a majestic tree. The Barberini Faun, a masterpiece of Greek sculpture and one of the Glyptothek's crown jewels, stands proudly alongside the "Medusa Rondanini", an iconic work deeply admired by Goethe, and the renowned "Munich Votive Relief". These masterpieces are showcased together in this elegant round room, carefully modeled after the Roman Pantheon. Displayed at the Antike am Königsplatz museum in Munich, where Bavaria's impressive collections of ancient artifacts from Greece, Etruria, and Rome take center stage. The sculpture collection is actually housed in the adjacent Glyptothek, while works created within Bavaria are proudly displayed in a separate museum. Ancient Egypt also boasts its own dedicated museum. This remarkable object is part of the innovative "Scan The World" project. Launched by MyMiniFactory, this non-profit initiative seeks to create a comprehensive digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks, and landmarks from around the globe for public access at no cost. Scan The World is an open-source community effort - if you have intriguing items nearby and wish to contribute, simply email stw@myminifactory.com to learn how you can join the team.
