Along with another Polish yacht, "Copernicus," it participated in the first crewed around-the-world regatta, the Whitbread Round The World Race, in 1973-74. The crew led by Captain Zdzisław Pieńkaw took 13th place. The mast broke during the regatta in a strong storm on the Indian Ocean on December 4, 1973. During a stopover in Sydney, the yacht was equipped with a new mast. A fragment of the old one was kept as a souvenir. The yacht sank on August 29, 1976, off the coast of South Shetland Island.
