!Fragile! Garmin Varia Radar Quarter Turn Mount Clip for Saddlebags

WARNING: this design broke when I hit a particularly nasty bump on the road, and my radar flew off the bike. I don't recommend using it, I made a more sturdy design since. I leave this up for reference. I made this adapter for the quarter turn mount of the Varia Radar so that it's possible to attach it to the back of saddlebags, in case there is not enough place on the seat post to mount it directly. It is important to mount this radar perpendicular to the ground, so if your saddlebag has a different angle, I suggest to measure the angle (I used my phone's accelerometer with the GPS Status app to figure out the exact angle) and change it in the FreeCAD file attached. The FreeCAD file is anyway quite customizable (see the image of the parameters). It is also important for strength to print it in the orientation shown on the picture, with supports, and in PETG (or ABS), as PLA could melt and deform on the bike in a hot sunny day, and it's also too brittle (can fail and fall more easily). I suppose this could be also useful if you wanted to attach anything else that is using a quarter turn mount with with a clip on system to either the back of your bike, or clothes/bags, not just the Varia Radar. Good luck, enjoy, and please drop me a comment or post a make if you found this useful!
