Fractal Octahedra. Calculated by OpenSCAD. Print Settings Printer: Da Vinci 2.0 Duo Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Notes: Data for fractal level 0-4 are normalized to a size of 1.0mm and are available for use with OpenSCAD's rotate, resize features (see comments in the source file for specifications). The model octa5-50-rt_fixed.stl has been modified to place a flat face at the bottom, resized to 50mm, and processed using Microsoft Model Repair service. This fractal solid differs significantly from Sierpinski's tetrahedra and Mengar sponge, possessing unique strength and firmness. Its construction appears similar but is distinct with no voids throughout. Successful printing was achieved on Da Vinci printers (affordable FDM printer) without requiring removal of supports; steep slicing settings made supports easily removable. High-quality FDM printers might print the model successfully with supports placed on a flat surface due to absence of ceiling or overhang angle stress points.
