Fractal Design Node 202 GPU Fan Duct
thingiverse
This is a modification to manypopes' excellent work on a GPU fan duct for the Fractal Designs Node 202 case. These modifications are designed to enhance performance while maintaining ease of installation and usability. By incorporating fresh air directly into the case, these designs effectively keep GPUs cool and recirculated air in the case cooler. Previously, I had to reduce power to 85% to avoid hitting thermal limits on a benchmark, but now I can push it up to 120% with a 100/350 overclock without exceeding thermal limits. Many thanks go out to manypopes for their outstanding CAD work that made this modification possible. Their dedication to the community has been invaluable. Modifications Made: Increased the height of the duct and added a soft, compliant conical flange to the top to fit snugly around the GPU fan rims. The GPU presses on these slightly to create an air-tight seal. Adjusted the position of the ducts by 1 mm to better match my specific GPU model (also an EVGA), which likely shares the same design as mine. Modified the duct geometry to achieve a more consistent wall thickness, taking into account the limitations imposed by the full-size case cutout. I opted for a larger inscribed circle that fit within the case, instead of attempting thinner walls that would have compromised print quality due to steep slopes. Updated the screw hole bosses to be precisely sized for standard case fan screws, ensuring secure and effortless installation. Thinned down the base plate to minimize filament usage while maintaining structural integrity.
