Foldable Pixhawk based quadcopter capable to carry camera Motivation As I'm interested in taking videos especially when I'm traveling, I started thinking about some foldable flying platform some time ago which is able to carry camcoder such as Sony or GoPro or even some slightly larger one such as e.g. Olympus TG6. Originally I planned to build some hexacopter platform with retracted gears and stabilized camera holder, but as time was going I found that this is not reachable to me with lack of time (not that much time after daily work). Then I decided to build something more simple. The result is this foldable platform. Following properties was essential to me: Copter shall be able to cary camcoder up to 300g (or even more) Copter shall be foldable do make its transport more easy Camcoder holder shall be easy to be replaced (plan was to add stabilized holder in future) Copter shall allow to wly with FPV CCD sensor (as this one is less sensitive on sun overlit) Copter shall be able to fly with maximal geolocation support (GPS) And this all lead to this construction at the end. ### Components list As all printed stuff is here, I will also list HW which was used by me. This hardware is not mandatory, but it may hel at least as hint for someone who search for alternatives. Also when copter is tuned, thaen I'll add configuration for Arducopter with e.g. optimal PID tuning. ESC - Afro 20A Propellers - Gemfan 10 x 4 BLDC - Turnigy 1000KV MPU - PixHawk PX 4 FPV camera - Sony EXviewHAD CCDII RC receiver - FrSky D4R-II Battery - LiPol 3,3Ah FPV transmitter - TS832 Boscam FPV 5.8GHz 32CH Current status Copter was severaltimes in the air, so PITCH and ROLL PID are tuned. The last, YAW is not tuned (didn't have time to do that yet). I hope I'll be able to proceed last step soon, so then I can add arducopter parameters and some sample video here Print instructionsCategory: R/C Vehicles Summary Foldable Pixhawk based quadcopter capable to carry camera Motivation As I'm interested in taking videos especially when I'm traveling, I started thinking about some foldable flying platform some time ago which is able to carry camcoder such as Sony or GoPro or even some slightly larger one such as e.g. Olympus TG6.
