FPV Racer-X

The Racer-X Quadcopter is designed specifically for FPV flight and comes in at a compact size of 220mm. It can be printed on any standard 200mm x 200mm print bed or larger. The frame has been heavily influenced by the designs found here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1248646, http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1120168 This small quadcopter is perfect for beginners looking to get into FPV racing without breaking the bank on a high-end carbon fiber frame. Made from durable ABS, PETG or Carbon Fiber filament, this design should withstand even the toughest conditions. The USB port hole located on the side of the frame allows for easy installation of a CC3D flight controller, with other boards also fitting snugly inside. The top plate features a cutout designed specifically for a CC3D using straight servo connectors. I will update both designs once I have had a chance to test a Naze32 board. The FPV camera mount has been carefully crafted to fit the Eachine 700tvl CCD board camera, which comes bundled with an ET200 transmitter. However, it should also accommodate most other 32mm board cameras on the market. Smaller cameras can be attached to the bottom plate using their own brackets. Motor holes are precisely sized for 22xx motors, ensuring a secure and reliable fit. Two versions of the bottom plate are available: one that requires 20mm screws (17mm plus additional threads) and another that demands 8mm motor screws (5mm plus enough threads to hold the motors). While using 6" props is technically possible, it's not recommended due to clearance issues with the FPV camera and inefficient airflow. Stick with the recommended 5" props for optimal performance. Assemble your Racer-X Quadcopter with the following components: * Twelve M3x30mm screws and lock nuts for the frame * Eight M3x8 (or longer) screws and lock nuts for the motor spacers * Eight M3x8 screws to secure the motors in place * If using the FPV board camera mount, one M3x25mm (or another M3x30mm) screw and lock nut for the FPV camera holder, and one M3x8mm for attaching it to the bottom plate Update 4/23/2016: The design of the bottom plate has been revised to separate it from the motor spacers. This allows both plates to be cut out of carbon fiber if desired. The motor mounts now require an M3 lock nut and an M3x8mm or longer screw to attach to the bottom plate. Update 3/13/2016: A new mount for the RunCam HD camera has been added. This design is still a work in progress, so I appreciate any feedback you may have!
