FPV Hood for RC Tank - Cover Fits Runcam Split & Split 2 (and other Runcams!) Update 5/4/2019: Added a Vented Hood. It appears that additional support is required, but it can be printed flawlessly without any issues, assuming adequate part cooling. FPV Hood for RC Tank Cover Top Plate, with integrated FPV antenna mount. Designed to replace the top_cover_holder_1_V1.stl and top_cover_holder_2_V1.stl from: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2789271 And the Tank itself: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2414983 The entire top plate can be removed with just 2 bolts and 2 wire connectors, allowing for quick replacement of the FPV top plate with the included Blank top plate. The Camera angle can be adjusted approximately 15°. No supports are needed. Print all 3 parts in PLA or PETG, with a 20% infill and 3 perimeters. Alternatively, you could try printing the camera Pod in TPU for added vibration damping. Holes are designed to accommodate 2.8mm screws, providing enough meat to be tapped securely (hand tighten within reason). VTX is secured with 3M VHB. Things to note: The fit is extremely tight once installed, which presents two problems. 1- The wires for the VTX and Split can easily become snagged in the spinning motors. 2- Both the Split and VTX (and their wires) are positioned just millimeters away from the motors, motor wires, and ESCs, resulting in a significant amount of noise in the FPV image. LC filter or some other form of shielding may be necessary. Work remains to be done. Further development is planned, with potential changes including making the entire top plate larger and/or hollow to move the Split and VTX away from the motors.
