FPV ground station mount for tripod
thingiverse
This is my build for a budget-friendly FPV ground station utilizing a generic 7" LCD screen sourced from eBay, paired with my video receiver operating on the 5.8 GHz frequency of RC832, along with a DVR. The entire setup can then be connected to any standard tripod. The primary motivation behind this upgrade was to replace the original metallic mount accessory that comes bundled with the screen. As soon as additional weight is introduced, the setup becomes unstable and eventually succumbs to cracking. To integrate the nut for the tripod, I utilized a generic GoPro tripod mount (remarkably affordable on eBay) as a donor for the nut. Subsequently, using a 10 mm drill bit, I created a hole, then employed hot air at a temperature of 480 degrees Celsius to secure the nut against the plastic. The nut is merely 1.5 mm larger than the hole, and by applying gentle pressure with a screwdriver while heating the nut, it was successfully pressed into place.
