FPV Evil Insect Quadcopter: A Masterpiece of Miniaturized Mayhem 1.8 Ounces of Pure Malevolence This is my latest creation, a micro FPV quadcopter designed to unleash chaos from the skies. After meticulously building and flying PunkKills' Micro 105 quad copter, I decided to take the challenge of designing my own frame. I wanted something that exuded malevolent intent, and this design delivers. Key Components: Flight Controller: The trusty MicroSkitty handles all navigation duties with precision and ease. Motors: I've employed Hubsan X4 H107c 8.5mm Motors to provide the necessary oomph for aerobatic maneuvers. VTX: A powerful FX758-2 5.8G 200mW Video Transmitter broadcasts live footage from above, making every flight a thrilling experience. Regulator: The Polulu 5V Regulator ensures a stable power supply, keeping all systems in check. Antenna: I crafted an antenna using enamel-coated magnet wire, carefully trimming it to approximately 2 inches long to optimize reception. Camera: A 170 Degree Wide Angle Camera provides an unobstructed view of the surroundings, capturing every detail with crystal clarity. Battery: Two 500mAh single-cell batteries power this tiny terror, allowing for extended flights and prolonged mayhem. Props: Ladybird props have proven their durability, withstanding numerous crashes without sustaining significant damage. Flight Tests: https://youtu.be/Ecid_GzmEEU https://youtu.be/VhEhn08dhzc https://youtu.be/uz3-Hmp7Ya8 Print Settings: Printer: Mini Kossel Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2 Layer Infill: 0% Notes: To achieve optimal print quality, I set the wall thickness to 0.4mm with no infill, and configured the support system to touch the bed only. The angle was adjusted to 70 degrees with a 15% fill, making it relatively easy to remove the supports from the shell. The frame's slim design allows for flexibility and durability, effortlessly bouncing back after every crash – even withstanding a catastrophic drop from 50 feet. While two motors were destroyed in the process, the internal components and frame remained intact, a testament to this quadcopter's resilience.
