Foxconn Nettop (NT-330i) Cover with 40mm External Fan!
thingiverse
My friend's business relies heavily on these compact PCs mounted behind monitors for POS and shop management. The fans in them have been consistently malfunctioning, making replacement parts impossible to find. I decided to take matters into my own hands by drilling holes in the lid of one unit and installing a 40mm fan to blow air directly onto the broken heatsink fan. Next, I designed and 3D printed a new cover with an integrated fan mounting system and a small duct to optimize airflow. The photos show the modifications made to the existing fan, including removing its guts and wiring to create an open interior space. The replacement fans I ordered are USB-powered and came from Amazon with a built-in cord and USB plug. I'm unsure which models this solution will be compatible with or if it will be useful to anyone else, but here's the fan model I used: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074YJH3P9/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1. The prototype I built didn't quite fit as planned, but I'm excited to share my progress and hear your thoughts!
