Four Tail Grub Soft Plastic Injection Mold

The Sentinel Grub This four-piece injection type mold makes a soft plastic 4 tail grub fishing lure that stands out from the market, as far as I know, because it is one of a kind. This mold is made of 3D printed plastic, so you need to be careful with temperatures and injection pressure. I printed this mold in PLA+ and tried to inject my Plastisol at or around 300° using Dead On Plastix's brand of Plastisol. To avoid blowing through the mold when injecting a 3D printed Mold, use very little pressure on the injector. If you don't get a full injection or have bubbles, start with light pressure and work your way up. This way if there is any warping it should ensure that the split lines stay as tight as possible. I don't know how long a printed mold will last, and your results may vary depending on the brand and type of filament you use. Print the pins separate and glue them in place (2 per piece). The four-piece mold can easily be clamped together for injecting using Hose Clamps. 02-22-21 I have printed and tested the 4-piece round version, and it works well. Overall, it is faster to print and easier to use with pipe clamps but after some testing, the pieces might start warping more and lead to more flashing. The flashing is easy to remove, but it's something to consider before choosing which design to go with. If you have any problems with the STLs or questions, please let me know.
