Four Compounds of Cubes

Four Compounds of Cubes

thingiverse

This text provides STL files for compounds of 3, 4, 5, and 6 cubes, along with their corresponding OpenSCAD files. George Hart's Virtual Polyhedra site features a section on cube compounds, which is a great starting point for studying these structures. The compound of three cubes uses the three four-fold axes of a cube, while the compound of four cubes employs the four three-fold axes. The compound of 6 cubes rotates each around a two-fold axis, and the compound of 5 cubes is positioned within an imaginary dodecahedron with five-fold symmetry. Additionally, a cube with holes corresponding to its rotation axes is provided for better understanding. All compound cubes require external support during printing and can be easily created using OpenSCAD's built-in cube and rotate commands.
