Fountain With Lights
thingiverse
A refreshing experiment. I wanted to attempt a large-scale print. This is a water feature crafted 240 mm wide to capture splash from the fountain and perfectly fit on an MK3S print bed. The initial smaller version I created encountered some issues with splash seeping in around the sides. Custom-designed to accommodate this water pump + LED light ring combo: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B0088CSO28. Additionally, some 5/16 (8 mm) tubing was used: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CGVJ9QG. There's a 3 mm gap to conceal the wire from the pump to the LED light ring. The power cord and tubing are hidden inside the fountain pillars on each side. Connecting the pump and tubing takes just three minutes. A hole in the back allows for the power cord to exit, connecting to the transformer that comes with the pump. This print completes quickly within 36 hours. I employed a cluster of supports, two inches wide, under the "table" edge in the center-front area using Simplify 3D manual supports. The unsupported areas printed flawlessly. It produces a pleasant falling water sound. Videos: https://youtu.be/3FhOTlTN314 and https://youtu.be/b4ShWMwZUCc. This design was sliced and diced in Tinkercad, utilizing vortex_pr's original creative and thoughtful design as the foundation. The main .stl is 240 mm wide and 194 mm tall. The top piece, printed separately, adds 30 mm of height and is 140 mm wide. The top piece, printed with increased infill, has a substantial weight, providing a snug fit to the tubing, which securely holds it in place without requiring any adhesive or additional support.
