Fountain Pen
thingiverse
I designed this pen quite some time ago, but it wasn't printing correctly until I upgraded my printer and got PETG dialed in perfectly. This pen is specifically designed to use Shaeffer nibs, so I opted for the Shaeffer mini kit because it comes with three nibs and some ink, making it possible to create three pens right out of the box. The tolerances on this design are a bit tight, but the nib screws all the way on and the cap closes securely enough to post. You can see in the picture that I printed this pen using Prusa PETG with a .15 layer height, printing it slowly with Z seems aligned for maximum quality. However, due to its small surface area, it failed twice during printing with only a skirt, but once I added a brim and trimmed it with an xacto knife, it printed fine. To print successfully, make sure both pieces are oriented vertically and use support on the build plate only for the cap.
