2018-09-29: I just uploaded two new clips that are 95% and 97% of the original width. For my printer, I've found that 97% is a good balance between holding the lid shut and being easy to open. I highly recommend testing these with your own printer after completing a full print to see which size works best for you. 2018-09-21: Having the socket and clip separate seems to be working out (check out the attached STL files). Printing the clip flat instead of vertical has made it much stronger, since the main stress is no longer across the short edge. The only issue right now is that they work a bit too well - it's hard to separate the top and bottom. I've also removed the central divider from the lid so it's easier to angle it up when opening. I'll experiment with making the clips slightly smaller soon. 2018-09-21: Unfortunately, my first attempt at clips was too brittle. I think this is because each layer isn't as strong as a horizontal run, and with the head having to move sideways between clips, there's less material than needed (stringing, retraction, etc). I'm working on another idea where just the sockets are printed on both top and bottom, and the clips are separate. This design is inspired by OpenLOCK from printablescenery.com. 2018-09-20: I've updated the clip thickness to 1.5mm (allowing for a three-pass wide clip with a 0.4mm nozzle). This will still fit in the box and makes the clips much stronger. This is just a test run of the Player Tokens box to see if others are interested. I'm experimenting with actual clips to hold the lids on instead of relying on friction from alignment circles. So far, these work better than expected given how thin they are, but at 1mm I worry that they'll break off. I didn't want to make them any bigger because that would require increasing the box size, which could cause problems with fitting everything inside. Any constructive feedback is welcome - I'll update if I do further tweaking.
