My notion of a Foucault pendulum. The intended cable length is 80 feet with a swing of 20 feet. Clearances for the pivots are designed for these specifications. Any foreshortening will likely require similar reduction in swing to avoid the pivots binding.The knives and knife beds are specified as Aluminum Nitride, but tungsten carbide may be preferable.
