A Model of Fossilized Mollusks in 3D Form. A steinkern is defined by Merriam-Webster as a fossil made from rock, where sediment entered a natural hollow object and remained after the mold had dissolved. The stony mass was initially mud or sediment that consolidated into stone, taking the shape of the bivalve shell's interior cavity. Fossilized bivalves discovered in South America date back 2 to 4 million years ago. They are located in the southeastern part of this continent. The meshes were produced using photogrammetry methods to achieve a perfect match between the models and the original fossils. To improve model geometry, these objects have undergone retopologization while keeping the original shape intact.
