A left hindfoot cast of Miohippus, a precursor to today's horse, was scanned using the MakerBot Digitizer Desktop 3D Scanner in "Dark" mode. The original specimen originated from the Oligocene era's John Day Beds in Oregon, USA, and is housed at Iowa State University's GeoFabLab under Dr. Franek Hasiuk's department. Its identifier is "1588 Yale C. 11293".
