A left fore foot cast of Miohippus, an ancestor to modern horses, was obtained from Oligocene sediments in Oregon's John Day River. Dr. Franek Hasiuk, Iowa State University's GeoFabLab, scanned the specimen marked "1588 Yale C. 11293" using a MakerBot Digitizer Desktop 3D Scanner set to "Dark".
