Fossil Horse Foot (Flesh Restored, Mesohippus)
thingiverse
The restoration of Mesohippus' right hind foot, an Oligocene ancestor of modern horses, comes from White River Beds in Nebraska or Dakota. Dr. Franek Hasiuk's GeoFabLab (Iowa State University) scanned it using the MakerBot Digitizer Desktop 3D Scanner on "Light" setting. A tiny modeling clay kept the specimen upright, appearing as a small "blob" at its base. The model is marked "1586 Flesh Restor."
