If you place a security camera behind a window to capture an outdoor view, be aware that reflections from indoors will appear in the image. Additionally, any IR lights used for night vision will not function effectively, causing a large reflection from the window glass. As a result, placing a camera indoors behind a window is not a suitable solution for obtaining an external view. However, if you still want to achieve this setup, there are ways to work around it. I've designed a mount that allows a Foscam C1 camera to be clipped in and attached to the window glass. This configuration prevents reflections from the interior, resulting in a clear image during the day. Nevertheless, it does not address the issue with IR lights for night vision. The camera is positioned at an angle of 15 degrees to provide a comprehensive view from a second-floor window. The mount's design features a press-fit mechanism that securely holds the camera in place. A small notch on the top center facilitates rotational alignment, ensuring easy installation and adjustment.
