Kent, your enthusiasm is contagious - I decided to take the leap and give it a try, despite my reservations about the spikes potentially throwing off the entire operation. I experimented with a couple of dowels, thinking they might provide just the right amount of rotation, but now I'll have to wait until it's printed to see if my hunch is correct.
