Fortaleza de São José de Macapá stands tall in the city of Macapá, Amapá state, Brazil. This impressive structure is part of a set of 19 fortifications nominated for UNESCO World Heritage status by Iphan/Unesco. The Amazon River flows alongside it, guarding its Northern Canal. Due to its size, two separate models were created - Revelim and the Praça de Armas. Our team conducted an archaeological investigation on its exterior and recovered various external defense structures.
