The fort V Gradu, also known as Starci by locals, stands proudly near the village of Gradin in Slovenia's Istria region. Constructed early in the 15th century as part of a defense system straddling the Venetian Republic and Austrian monarchy border, this imposing structure boasts a strategic location on a natural pier that is inaccessible from three sides. At its highest point, a sturdy round tower serves as an arsenal for storing weapons, while a half-tower regulates access to the camp below. Unfortunately, despite extensive research, little information about the fort has been uncovered in local archives so far.
