I'm conducting a rapid assessment of the interior of an abandoned building at Fort Ord, a decommissioned military base situated along Monterey Bay. The overwhelming majority of the base lies vacant and is rapidly deteriorating. This room stood out as the most lavishly decorated among all those I ventured into.
