East meets West in Jaime Hayon's playful reinterpretation of a traditional Asian lantern, reimagined for contemporary expression. For centuries, paper lanterns have played a significant role in Asia, gracing the homes of both the affluent and the humble, where distinct colors, shapes, and sizes convey unique meanings. Here, Hayon has boldly shed cultural conventions to create a range of lamps all in pristine white. Each piece is meticulously handcrafted from rice paper, expertly merging various sizes and shapes into a cohesive whole. The series consists of three distinct lantern versions, plus an ivory white rice paper table lamp with black-stained oak accents. Wire images were created using CoronaMtl + Corona Wire Texmap for the geometry test. Materials: The jpg textures are included in the main archive. All objects feature UV mapping and mixed materials.
