Forked Drop-Down Longboard

Introducing the Forked Drop-Down Longboard design, based on the concept from this article. It's a unique drop-down longboard that can be created without veneer pressing, just by cutting parts using a CNC router, laser cutter, or electric jigsaw and then assembling them. This durable longboard is similar to another design, the Combined Drop-Down Longboard, but it requires wide trucks (>=180mm). The recommended material for this longboard is Baltic birch plywood. The nose and tail parts should be made of 9-ply (12mm) plywood, while the main platform should be crafted from 11-ply (15mm) plywood for riders weighing between 70-110 kg or 9-ply (12mm) plywood for lighter riders. The OSB prototype shown in photos is just a proof of concept and requires extra reinforcement not included in the plans. To make this longboard, you only need the Forked Layered Drop-down Longboard DXF file. 3D model files (.123D, .STP) are provided for reference purposes. The main platform sizes are suitable for trucks with a wheelbase offset of more than 2", such as Randal trucks. If you use shorter offset trucks like Paris or Slant trucks, you may need to extend the wheel cutouts on the main platform. You also have the option to drill holes for new school or old school mounting, depending on your truck model. The distance between inner and outer bolts can be 2 1/8" (54mm) or 2 3/32" (53.2mm), with 53.2mm used in the plans. If you choose new school mounting with a 54mm distance, adjust the outer bolt hole positions before drilling. To increase the longboard drop level, use risers or washers between the nose and tail parts and the main platform.
