Introducing the Forked Drop-Down Longboard Short Wheelbase Offset (SWBO) version! This unique design, based on an article at http://www.townscooter.com/p/forked-drop-down-longboard.html, is crafted using Baltic birch plywood for a durable and robust construction. The SWBO variant is designed to work specifically with short Wheelbase Offset Trucks (WBO) like Caliber, Charger, or Slant with wheelbase offsets shorter than 2". For more information on wheelbase offset, check out https://goo.gl/QUdvNF. This setup allows for shorter and stronger forks compared to long WBO trucks. To make the parts of this longboard, you only need the Forked Layered Drop-down Longboard SWBO.DXF file, with 3D model files provided for reference. The main platform sizes are tailored for short WBO offsets, like Slant trucks, but can be adjusted for longer offsets if needed. Drilling holes for new school or old school mounting is optional, depending on your truck model. For new school mounting, hole distances of 2 1/8" (54mm) or 2 3/32" (53.2mm) can be used, with the latter distance specified in the plans. If you'd like to increase the longboard drop level, risers or washers between nose-tail parts and the main platform can be utilized. Lastly, this design allows for creative combinations of nose and tail parts, such as a twin-kick longboard.
