Forked Drop-Down Longboard This sectional drop-down longboard design is based on the concept I've described in the article http://www.townscooter.com/p/forked-drop-down-longboard.html. It is a drop-down longboard that can be made without veneer pressing. You only need to cut parts using a CNC router or laser cutter, or even an electric jigsaw, and then assemble them. It's a bit similar to my another design - Combined Drop-Down Longboard (http://www.townscooter.com/p/combined-layered-drop-down-longboard.html). The Forked longboard is more durable but it can be made with wide trucks only (>=180mm). Materials I recommend using Baltic birch plywood to make this longboard. Nose and Tail parts can be made of 9 ply (12mm) plywood. The main platform should be made of 11 ply (15mm) plywood for a 70-110 kg rider or 9 ply (12mm) plywood for a less than 70 kg rider. The OSB prototype shown on photos was made just to proof the concept http://www.townscooter.com/2016/08/forked-drop-down-longboard-osb-prototype.html. It requires an extra reinforcement part not shown on the plans. Notes You only need the Forked Layered Drop-Down Longboard.DXF file to make parts of the longboard. 3D model files (.123D, .STP) are provided for references. The main platform sizes are suitable for trucks with more than 2" wheelbase offset, e.g. Randal trucks. If you use shorter offset trucks, e.g. Paris or Slant trucks, it may require to extend wheel cutouts on the main platform. Later I'm going to publish a project version for such trucks with other bolt holes positions. You do not need to drill all holes on the nose and tail part. You can drill holes for the new school or the old school mounting. It depends on your trucks model. In the case of the new school mounting, the distance between inner and outer bolts can be 2 1/8" (54mm) or 2 3/32" (53.2mm). The 53.2mm distance is used on the plans. You need to correct outer bolts hole positions before drilling if you use trucks with the 54mm distance. You can increase the longboard drop level using risers or washers between the nose and tail parts and the main platform.
