You can open the model in 3DS Max 2010. There's a script available to transform tris to quads on any model, but it's not intended for this specific model - consider it a gift! The script is called VB_Quadrangulate. Additionally, there's another script designed for retopology of models, and while it can be used on most models, it's also not tailored specifically for this one. Instant Meshes Bridge plus Instant Meshes are the names you'll want to look up if you're interested in using this particular script.
