Fork Seal Driver - Motorcycle Repair Tool [All Sizes 36-48mm]
thingiverse
I created several versions of these for repairing and rebuilding my motorcycle forks. They're an excellent little tool to prevent the fork seals and dust seals from getting damaged during installation. The driver has a slight recess that will hold onto a rubber band and keep the driver in place. It was also designed slightly off-center so it "snaps" onto the fork stanchion. I included 3D Files for all common fork stanchion diameters, such as 36mm, 37mm (Ninja 300), 41mm, 43mm, 45mm, 46mm, and 47mm. I also saved the .STL file in a higher resolution part with more triangles to ensure a smooth transition. You can see the .STL segmentation on my part that I used. However, I still recommend sanding your parts to ensure a smooth transition and prevent the seal lips from catching. I applied grease to the seal driver to aid in installation, and I used a hammer to finish the seating of the seal since I didn't have enough hand strength. Print these upside-down (i.e., with the thick part on the printer bed) without any support. The gap is small enough not to need any support. Let me know if there are other sizes that need to be added, as I also created a set of matching bullet tools.
