However, the plastic fork protectors constantly rub against these covers as the suspension operates, drastically shortening their lifespan. These fork cover clamps are engineered to secure the fork covers in place while shielding them from damage caused by the plastic fork protectors. As an added benefit, the friction between the upper fork tube and the fork protectors is significantly reduced, resulting in less drag.
