Forged Steel Rail Tongs

Forged Steel Rail Tongs

grabcad

This pair of tongs was crafted by a blacksmith from repurposed rail steel, sourced as scrap metal from a steel manufacturer. They are based on an existing set used at the factory. The steel is meticulously shaped through hammering and forging to create each handle, with rivets then secured using a pounding and pressing technique to connect both sides. In Inventor's dynamic simulation mode within the assembly file, when a 75 lbf force is applied near the end of one handle, the clamping ends exert an almost tripled force of approximately 230 lbf.
