ForeverSpin Spinning Base cup
thingiverse
This is an accessory for the Spinning base available from https://foreverspin.com/. I was a backer and loved my top and base, but one thing bothered me - my top kept getting loose and rolling off. So I created this solution. I made it in Tinkercad with help from my digital caliper. This is my first design from concept to reality, using the caliper for precise measurements and printing with my Monoprice Select Mini. The result is incredibly accurate. I had to apply some force to get the spinning base into the cup, but it works flawlessly now. My top no longer skitters off when it falls over. I love it. In retrospect, I should have been more forgiving in my measurements because the base fits perfectly and permanently into the cup. Warning: If you put your spinning base into this cup, you won't be able to get it out unless you resize or break the cup to retrieve it. Print Settings: Printer: Monoprice Select Mini Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: Not specified Infill: 20% Notes: This was printed with Makerbot PLA using Cura 2.3.1 settings - Extruder temp: 210, Bed temp: 60, Brim. How I Designed This: First time using a digital caliper Took meticulous measurements with my digital caliper and entered Tinkercad to create a precise representation of the base. I formed a void in the center and created a cylinder shape around it. I fine-tuned it further by adding a peg in the center to fit snugly into the base's bottom.
