Forestry Landslide - Wilson Lower
sketchfab
A devastating landslide plummets 1000 feet down the Oregon Coast Range's rugged terrain. Human activities such as clearcutting on steep slopes and road construction are pinpointed as contributing factors to this catastrophic event, unleashing a torrent of sediments into the West Fork North Fork Wilson River. The ecological impact is stark: coastal Coho salmon habitats, already struggling due to endangered species status under the Endangered Species Act, are now further imperiled by these deposited sediments. A glimpse of the upper section of this landslide can be seen elsewhere.
