Foredom flex-shaft mount for Thing-O-Matic

thingiverse

This adapter is similar to Marcus Wolschon's design but specifically made for a Foredom flex-shaft, offering better bearings and less tool wobble compared to Dremel. It also features a 1/2 inch hole for vinyl tubing connection to a vacuum. The part measures 10x10cm, so ensure your nozzle is centered during Thing-O-Matic calibration. To assemble, insert two M5 nuts into the hexagonal holes using a vise, then slide in the flex-shaft handle and fasten with four 4-40 x 3/4 inch allen bolts and four 4-40 nuts. Optionally, insert a piece of 1/2 inch OD vinyl tubing through the slanted hole for a vacuum line. To install on your Thing-O-Matic, remove the extruder thumb screws, place the flex-shaft mount where the extruder was, and reinstall the thumb-screws. Use Marcus Wolschon's removable build platform and PCB vise to avoid drilling holes in your automated build platform.
