Foredom 44T Handpiece Cradle
thingiverse
I had a need to set up and keep out of the way my Foredom 44T handpiece when not in use. No good solutions were found, so one should be created, I thought. The SCAD file is included, allowing you to optimize it according to your tastes. Since it's attached to my workbench, a small piece of neoprene CA glue secures the cradle to the fluted area for a smooth and soft handpiece placement. The intentional design feature in the handpiece allows for some play in the cradle, reducing stress on wrap-around areas. This helps prevent side cracking like it did in the first version. Two recessed screw holes are present for securing the cradle at your desired position with #8 machine screws. Please note that you cannot pull out the handpiece straight down - you need to lift it above the top lip. The drawing is parametric, designed to help modify a cradle for this handpiece or even create one for other types. This is only my second iteration, but I've had great results with it so far. Enjoy!
