Ford revamped its lineup with the introduction of the Model B in 1932. The new model ran through 1934 and took after its predecessor, the Ford A. Initially, it shared a striking resemblance to its predecessor, featuring a refined four-cylinder engine from the previous Ford A design. This proved effective as Ford's customer base was predominantly attracted by the improved engine capabilities. The main update that distinguished the Model B from the Ford A lay in its motor upgrades - rather than retaining its outdated engine specs. In addition, some consumers also chose a similar model powered by an 8-cylinder unit, thereby enhancing power without increasing maintenance expenses or compromising comfort features during ride. Not to be overlooked was another notable version called Model 18 - also designated as Ford V-8 - where 1 indicates single vehicle type while '8' points at eight engine cylinders. Although it lacked wider distribution in terms of units sold across different sales markets due lackluster promotion & low demand for larger variants like V8s compared smaller engine cars among the general consumer segment still made a statement by featuring its bold design amidst more subtle-looking alternatives available during this time frame.
