Ford Ranger Armrest/Center Console Latch
thingiverse
They say necessity drives innovation and that's exactly what prompted me to create this. The latch on my 1996 Ford Ranger armrest had given out, so the spring-loaded center console was always open by default. This is a revised version, thanks to the original one I made that began to bend in the summer heat, printed in PLA. To add more stability and strength, I added some ribs. However, these were a bit too tall, so I used a razor blade to shave them down for a snug fit when closed. You may need to do the same to ensure a proper fit. I didn't find it necessary to use any adhesives; instead, I simply disassembled the armrest cover (the screws are hidden beneath the fabric on the inside) and slipped this into the existing hole. As always, if you decide to make one, all I ask is that you share a photo or at least comment on how it worked for you.
