The 80-inch wheelbase Government 'P' Amphibious vehicle, dubbed the Ford GPA 'Seep', proved to be an amphibious version of the iconic World War II Ford GPW jeep. Contrary to its cousin's status as a successful design, the seep was marred by subpar performance on land and inadequate capabilities in open water conditions.[1] Its development team drew inspiration from the significantly larger and highly successful DUKW amphibious truck, integrating its key design features into the GPA's platform.
