The Ford Model A, also known as A-Model Ford or A, succeeded the renowned Model T after being introduced on October 20, 1927 and officially sold from December 2. This marked the second major triumph for Ford Motor Company. Initially designated a 1928 model, it was available in four standard colors. Sales skyrocketed with one million units sold by February 4, 1929, and two million by July 24. Model A offered nine body styles by March 1930 when sales reached three million. Production ceased in March 1932 after a total of 4,858,644 units were made across various body styles. The Model B followed with an upgraded 4-cylinder engine and the Model 18 introduced Ford's new flathead V8 engine.
