The Ford GT is a 2-seater supercar created by the Ford Motor Company for 2005. Initially designed as a prototype in anticipation of the Ford centenary, it was also part of a campaign to display and revive its rich heritage of iconic names such as the Ford Mustang and the Ford Thunderbird. Inspired by the classic Ford GT40, a racing car from the 1960s, some people often mistake it with its predecessor of that era. Equipped with a DOHC supercharged V-8 engine boasting four valves per cylinder, it produces an impressive 550 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and delivers maximum torque of 678 Newton-meters at 3,750 rpm. With a six-speed manual transmission, this sleek car comes with Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires. The Ford GT boasts excellent fuel efficiency, achieving 18 liters per 100 kilometers in the city and an impressive 11.2 liters per 100 kilometers on the highway. Originally designed as a prototype to commemorate the centenary of the Ford automotive brand and as part of its mission to display and revive its legendary heritage including names such as the Ford Mustang and the Ford Thunderbird, a new vision of the Ford GT was showcased in 1995 at the Detroit Auto Show under the concept "rejuvenated Ford GT90". Further conceptual developments for the iconic supercar were revealed during the 2002 car show where a modern take on the classic GT40 made its debut.
