Ford Focus Front Shock Tower Camber Plate Jig
cults3d
This is a stencil and a Jig for modifying the mk3 focus shock tower, I created this template off of Fortune Auto 500 camber plates (Ford Focus Specific) to eliminate the guesswork when cutting the shock tower. The Jig is set to use a 1 1/2in Hole Saw and a 1/2in drill bit. (You Will Need To Print 2 Jigs as they are designed to be sacrificial.) Instructions: REMOVE ENTIRE SHOCK AND SPRING ASSEMBLY FIRST. Then: Use the jig, To attach the jig use 3, 1/4 x 1in bolts and nut. Once secured to the shock tower, use the holes as cutting guides starting with the centermost hole first (1 1/2in Hole Saw) then using the same bit, use the crescent moons as the next hole guide (this is why the jig becomes sacrificial). After making the 3 cuts with the hole saw, switch to the 1/2in bit and drill out the smaller holes on both sides. Once finished, remove the jig. The posts on the stencil are inserted into the shock tower. Then use the stencil as a guide to mark the remaining portions of metal to be trimmed/sanded and deburred. Congratulations, you have now cut out the minimum amount of material in order to adjust the camber (and dampening) on your aftermarket camber plates without removing the entire shock assembly in the future.
