I like to observe the print process, so I created this forced air fan duct for a clear view of the print area and efficient cooling. It requires a 50 x 50 mm fan to be mounted into it. The design provides excellent cooling for both single and dual extruder setups. Version 2 is now available, featuring a modified nozzle and throat that eliminated an issue with the original design - it was inadvertently cooling the heating block! This version is slightly taller than its predecessor, and I've positioned the airflow jet closer to the print area. If needed, washers or shims can be added to adjust the height for specific setups. However, this new version necessitates reducing fan speed to prevent excessive cooling. This design excels at bridging, which was a significant improvement over the original. It has been tested with PETG filament using settings of 225°C for the heated bed and 90°C for the nozzle. Despite initial difficulties printing without the bed heat on, this version has proven successful in these conditions. Print resolution was set to 0.25 mm, and infill density was maintained at 80%.
