Forbidden Planet's C-57D Ver.1

***NOTE: I have created an upgraded version of this model (Thing #: 3565146), view it here:** www.thingiverse.com/thing:3565146 This is a model I designed based on the flying saucer C-57D from the iconic film Forbidden Planet. It's often claimed that launching Science Fiction movies from "B" reels catapulted them into mainstream blockbuster status and inspired other classics like Star Trek and Star Wars. This is the C-57D in flight mode, I have engineered it to be printed from 4 identical components making a model slightly over 8.7 inches long. I have included an alternate version with thicker walls and structural pillars to prevent the finished model from bending or flexing excessively. *Note: I have re-scaled the files to optimize them for printing in a 6x6x6 printer and edited them so that they can be printed easily without support material.
