I thoroughly enjoyed drathbun's explanation for his remix of this piece, so I decided to honor it by creating a remix of my own. This is a Remix Inception (mix of a mix of a mix). I started with drathbun's tile holder for Forbidden Island, which he had reworked and explained how to speed up printing and conserve filament by removing excess parts. It printed perfectly for me on the first try and I thought I could improve upon the process, so I came up with this remix. I opened the design in SketchUp and noticed that there were a lot of merging problems. After about an hour of cleaning up the lines and another hour rearranging the ribs, I was able to create this fun minimalist piece. I'm not sure how well it will hold up in a drop or under heavy use, but I did manage to shave off some weight. I've included both the four-at-a-time .stl file and the single file for those who may not be able to print multiple pieces at once. With my settings set to Cura factory settings for Low Quality- 0.15mm, these are the results. ku4tp Time: 1h 20m Time x4: 5h 23m Length: 4.02m Length x4: 16.10m Weight: ~11g Weight x4: ~48g WardF Time: 1h 20m Time x4: 5h 23m Length: 4.01m Length x4: 16.08m Weight: ~11g Weight x4: ~47g drathbun Time: 1h 0m Time x4: 4h 5m Length: 3.12m Length x4: 12.49m Weight: ~9g Weight x4: ~37g Dport406 Time: 48m Time x4: 3h 13m Length: 2.34m Length x4: 9.30m Weight: ~6g Weight x4: ~28g This is my first contribution to the Thingiverse community. I hope you enjoy printing this remix!
