For volcano hotend with optional Anycubic Chiron linear rail bracket
thingiverse
I modified it so I can use the 30mm fan of the volcano kit. This is also for the volcano hotend, adjusted the cooling duct to match that of the volcano nozzle. Modified the opening of the air ducts to be cleaner to print, no overhang. Those lateral guides are best when printed with a resin printer and those should be modified to be sharper and in this case I simply removed them as I printed this with ABS filament at 0.2mm layer height. Holes for the linear rail fit the MGN12C slide. One can use a 40mm fan instead of my 30mm fan option and make the hole for the 30mm fan as an exit vent, an optional front cover with grill is provided redirecting the outgoing air upward. I included the carriage for linear rail which I used on the Anycubic Chiron with the top most holding the PCB for the connector and you can print it without any support then just cut that 0.2mm cover to make way for the PCB. The hole for the 30mm fan also have this 0.2mm thin single layer cover that printing does not need any support and is removable. The holes for the X end stop switch are still there but I no longer use it as I use the TMC2209 for the X axis and configured it for sensor less homing under klipper firmware with the SKR PRO V1.1 board. This was tested and cooling works well. With the direct drive, I see that a 2mm retraction at 25mm/s is working fine. My previous retraction setting was 6mm at 25mm/s with the bowden setup. I find this direct drive setup more user friendly as changing of filament is a lot easier in front. My printer is in a very tight space and only the front side have the wide access opening. Kindly adjust the orientation for every part on your slicer that you won't be needing any support, I simply exported it from the 3D drawing without changing any orientation. Thank you babyjail for sharing your design, it's compact and beautiful design and easy to modify with the provided files. I noticed the preview on the photos are distorted and is out of proportion. The 30mm fan is not mounted correctly on the screenshot drawing, it is only there to check if it fits well. I hope this remix can also be useful for anyone with the volcano hotend just as the original design provided for the V6 hotend. Change log: Dec. 01, 2019 - initial posting. Dec. 02, 2019 - added front cover with grill for those using a 40mm fan. Dec. 07, 2019 - step file added for easy modification
